I need production. If you, your cousin, your friend or some random person you found online makes really good shit, let me know. I’m accepting all types of beats right now. Let’s make some cool shit

I like this write up a lot. That’s love. Thank you homie

Some mix-tapes make their way to the constant rotation of my soundtrack every day, and that’s the usual: No Ceilings, Kush & OJ, So Far Gone, From the Westside With Love, Overly Dedicated, etc, etc. And this is a new addition, Corpus Christi upstart CARMINE. By way of my hometown, NEWARK, NJ, this guy brings a severe amount of catchiness to the table, and he serves a good 10 tracks to keep you sane through the spring. In case you didn’t know, the collection is known as NOTHING GOOD. Good, no. Great mixtape… #ALLUS

The College Dropout

I remember going to school late on the release day of The College Dropout. My mom drove me to Best Buy at 9AM, I was the first person in the store. The first person to buy the cd off the shelf. I took it to my first period class and sat in the back, luckily that’s where my seat was. I opened it up and the flourescent pink disc with the yellow bear outline on it had my friends cracking jokes on me. I popped it into my cd walkman (remember those haha) and played it from track 1 all the way through to 21. I was amazed to say the least. It spoke to me like no other rap album ever did before. Kanye was a genius in my eyes from that moment on. The witty shit he would say and the way he would put himself out there was what pulled me in the most. That album changed my life. Sitting in the back of Mrs. Brandon’s IPC class, listening to The College Dropout, is where I decided that music was what I needed to do in life. I pray every night that one day I’ll be able to have that type of impact on someone else’s life.
